This is life, so we'll survive

Happy 4th, y'all! And Happy Canada Day a few days ago. And Happy Palin Resigns Yesterday! Things have been rolling along here on the hill but my thoughts turn to winter almost every minute now. This is going to be a big season for Spitfire Kennels in preparation for my 2011 Iditarod plight. I want to do at least three big races this season. The hardest I can to find out if I'm actually as tough as I think I am and to prove to Richard that I am at least a little tough. We're getting a schedule in place for training and racing and also looking ahead to our big move over to Katchemak Kennels. Rich and I are both working today and it should be really busy. Yesterday we had a record day at the winery....sold 287 bottles...the most ever! It was nuts and a little stressful, but generally people are in a good mood when they come in...and the more they drink the better looking I get, so it's a win-win.
Now for some sad news. A few days ago one of Libby's old dogs got an unexpected burst of energy and broke out of his pen. We haven't found him yet, but I'm not giving up hope. We've been going on long walks searching the thickets, meadows and hay fields but can't see any trace. The wildflowers are so gorgeous here, and it's too bad we discovered all these lovely spots under such sombre circumstances but again, not giving up. Friends and neighbors have been helping a lot so if he's out there, we'll find him.
Peace

Palin’s move just puts yet more pressure on Obama to finally get some results, as the soaring rhetoric isn’t hypnotizing the plebes like it used to. This week Helen Thomas, Colin Powell, and Warren Buffet all turned on him. Polls are looking droopy for The One lately.

Obama’s porkulus program is a train wreck, all it’s done is bump interest rates and tank the dollar. We are being laughed at by bad guys like Tehran, Pyongyang, and Al Qaida who amazingly turned-down Barack’s timid friend-requests.

Palin could trounce him in 2012, when Americans would vote for the Gipper-in-Heels in droves- while begging for lower taxes, free enterpise, a defense posture with some backbone… an end to the radical, anti-American nightmare we’ve got now.

Go get ‘em Sarah-

The truth is Palin, love her or hate her, is abondoning ship. And she did it on the eve of the Fourth during Alaska's 50th year of statehood. What the fuck? No class. If anything this hurts her already non-existent changes in 2012 because she's a quitter. And not only leaving Alaska in a lurch, but giving us no reason why. Sarah has disappointed yet again.

I've said for months now the only thing between me and moving to Alaska is Sarah Palin. w00t!

So now I have no excuse, 'cept I want to see who replaces her.

So sorry to hear about the escapee. I'm saying a little prayer for the boy . . .

Best of luck as you prepare for 2011. You don't have to prove your tough! You just go, girl!!

Lol, don't you love nuts "commenting"?

I'm sure the right-wing drivel spouter is a big mushing fan! Sigh.

Anyway, love your blog, it's been fun following your journey (literally).

Good luck with your runaway, hope he's safe and sound.

PS: She picked a weekend when people are outside and away from news sources for her announcement...

Loon: I debated whether or not to publish it, but I thought people could use a laugh! Looks like you have a nice start to a great team. Good luck!

That's awesome, I figured that's why!

I hate to get into political flame wars online, but come on!

Thanks for the laugh, and thanks for the good wishes! I'll be following you again this coming season. Thanks for inspiring others with your spirit and determination!

I wish I could have bought one of those bottles of wine, and I hope you find the old fella.
